HISP has been in the vanguard of HMIS strengthening in Nigeria since her corporate registration in 2004. Her first major activity was to participate in the full functional roll Out of National Health Information Systems (NHMIS) software in 2006 and with further consolidation as the default backstopping organization for the Federal Ministry of Health. Since then, we as an organization has become known throughout Nigeria for our result oriented leadership in the deployment of DHIS as veritable tool for data collection and several other HMIS support in the FMH and a good number of states in the country.
The DHIS2 has been showcased by HISP Nigeria to be a very effective and fluent tool for health data mining, related research, data analysis functions and requirements of both state and international clients. This has built a strong interest and attraction of several bodies and organizations towards HISP for field work and support services in several areas of data management endeavors.
Going further, there were many academy in to brainstorm on the way forward for DHIS in Africa. Several valid decisions were made during this period which set the pace for the speedy growth and development of DHIS2, a veritable and open source data instrument for the harvest and usage of health data throughout Africa.
